What your bots can do in Gmail

Connect Emra with Gmail to use 24/7, always-on AI agents that work like your team.

  • 01

    Send mail as you

Write and send from your address, with cc and bcc as needed. Bots don't read your inbox.

  • 02

    Attach files

Send a report, a spreadsheet or any other file a bot has on hand along with the message.

  • 03

    Format the message

Send a quick note in plain text, or a formatted message with links, lists and headings.

  • 04

    Keep labels in order

Create, rename, nest and remove your labels, and choose where each one shows in Gmail.

Things to ask

  • Email this week's report to Priya and cc Sam
  • Can you send the launch notes to the team with headings and links?
  • Create a Clients label with one nested label per account

Add Gmail to a bot

It takes about a minute, and each person signs in once.

To a bot you have

  1. 1Open the bot’s settings and click + under Apps
  2. 2Choose Gmail and add it to the bot
  3. 3Sign in with your own Gmail account

To a new bot

  1. 1Click New bot, name it and say what it’s for
  2. 2Click Connect apps beside its name and choose Gmail
  3. 3Add it to the bot, then sign in with your own Gmail account

Then ask. The bot works in Gmail as you, with your access.

  • Your own sign-in

Each person signs in to Gmail themselves. A bot uses the sign-in of whoever is talking to it, never a teammate’s.

  • Only the bots you choose

A bot can use Gmail only once it has been added to that bot.

  • Switch off any action

Turn off any Gmail action for your sign-in, or remove it from a bot, whenever you like.

Questions about Gmail and Emra

How do I use AI agents with Gmail?

Add Gmail to an Emra bot and sign in, then ask the bot in plain words, in its chat or in Slack. It is an AI agent that works in Gmail as you, and it can run on a schedule you set.

What AI agents work with Gmail?

Emra bots do. Each is an always-on AI agent that works like a member of your team, and it connects to Gmail alongside the other apps you use, so one bot can carry a task from one app to the next.

Do Emra bots have their own computer?

Yes. Every Emra bot has its own computer and web browser in the cloud. It works in Gmail through this integration, and it can use any website your team can for the work that happens elsewhere.

Can AI agents work in Gmail around the clock?

Yes. Emra bots are always on. Give one a schedule and it does the work in Gmail at the times you set, or ask it anything, at any hour.

How do I connect Gmail to Emra?

Open a bot’s settings, click + under Apps and choose Gmail. Add it to the bot, then sign in with your Gmail account. It takes about a minute.

Whose Gmail account does a bot use?

The account of whoever is talking to it. Each teammate signs in with their own, and a bot never uses one person’s sign-in for someone else.

Can I limit what a bot does in Gmail?

Yes. Any Gmail action can be switched off for your own sign-in, and Gmail can be removed from a bot at any time.

Is there anything to install?

No. Your bots reach Gmail from Emra’s cloud, so you only sign in.
