Add Microsoft Teams to a bot
It takes about a minute, and each person signs in once.
To a bot you have
- 1Open the bot’s settings and click + under Apps
- 2Choose Microsoft Teams and add it to the bot
- 3Sign in with your own Microsoft Teams account
To a new bot
- 1Click New bot, name it and say what it’s for
- 2Click Connect apps beside its name and choose Microsoft Teams
- 3Add it to the bot, then sign in with your own Microsoft Teams account
Then ask. The bot works in Microsoft Teams as you, with your access.
Your own sign-in
Each person signs in to Microsoft Teams themselves. A bot uses the sign-in of whoever is talking to it, never a teammate’s.
Only the bots you choose
A bot can use Microsoft Teams only once it has been added to that bot.
Switch off any action
Turn off any Microsoft Teams action for your sign-in, or remove it from a bot, whenever you like.
Questions about Microsoft Teams and Emra
How do I use AI agents with Microsoft Teams?
Add Microsoft Teams to an Emra bot and sign in, then ask the bot in plain words, in its chat or in Slack. It is an AI agent that works in Microsoft Teams as you, and it can run on a schedule you set.
What AI agents work with Microsoft Teams?
Emra bots do. Each is an always-on AI agent that works like a member of your team, and it connects to Microsoft Teams alongside the other apps you use, so one bot can carry a task from one app to the next.
Do Emra bots have their own computer?
Yes. Every Emra bot has its own computer and web browser in the cloud. It works in Microsoft Teams through this integration, and it can use any website your team can for the work that happens elsewhere.
Can AI agents work in Microsoft Teams around the clock?
Yes. Emra bots are always on. Give one a schedule and it does the work in Microsoft Teams at the times you set, or ask it anything, at any hour.
How do I connect Microsoft Teams to Emra?
Open a bot’s settings, click + under Apps and choose Microsoft Teams. Add it to the bot, then sign in with your Microsoft Teams account. It takes about a minute.
Whose Microsoft Teams account does a bot use?
The account of whoever is talking to it. Each teammate signs in with their own, and a bot never uses one person’s sign-in for someone else.
Can I limit what a bot does in Microsoft Teams?
Yes. Any Microsoft Teams action can be switched off for your own sign-in, and Microsoft Teams can be removed from a bot at any time.
Is there anything to install?
No. Your bots reach Microsoft Teams from Emra’s cloud, so you only sign in.
Does my IT admin need to approve Emra?
In many work and school organizations, yes, once. If Microsoft asks for admin approval when you sign in, Emra gives you a link to send them, and one approval covers Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams.
